The Tickets Oxford story began in the early 1990s. The good people of the Oxford Playhouse box office would occasionally assist local promoters by printing tickets for their events. In 1994, the year Forrest Gump left us all teary-eyed with his running and fishing exploits, Elton John implored us to feel the love tonight, and every soul in the country was left jittering with excitement over the opening of the channel tunnel, another, possibly even more significant development happened at the Oxford Playhouse. Local promoters, Music at Oxford, struck a formal arrangement with the box office to sell and print tickets for their events.
Fast-forward to 2001, with an ever expanding client base, the agency was branded as Tickets Oxford at the Oxford Playhouse to give the agency a separate identity to the Playhouse and allow promoters a logo to use on their publicity.
Since then Tickets Oxford has grown into one of the county’s premier ticket agents, selling for national sell-out festivals, concerts, and tours to small-scale local events in Oxford’s most historic venues. Selling over 40,000 tickets a year to nearly 14,000 people Tickets Oxford has established itself as the number one ticket agent in Oxfordshire, with a core base of high profile promoters.
Using the Playhouse’s 70 years of experience in selling tickets, Tickets Oxford excels in offering the best customer service in selling for over 1500 events per year. Our informative and dedicated team are passionate about what they do and are always happy to discuss your ticketing needs.
