LECTURE - 'OUT OF THE EARTH'

LECTURE - 'OUT OF THE EARTH'

Oxford Chamber Music Festival 2018

Can we open the earth and hear music which has been buried for over 4000 years? Irving Finkel, curator at the British Museum, is our guide to the fascinating musical culture of ancient Mesopotamia, as revealed by cuneiform tablets which have survived deep in the earth. Together with one of World Music’s brightest stars, the celebrated Oud-player Joseph Tawadros, he attempts to bridge four millennia through sound.
