A Grade I, G.F. Bodley designed church and adjoining cloister that forms part of St Stephen's House, a Permanent Private Hall of the University.
Recently updated as a concert venue, SJE has underfloor heating and new lighting, comfortable chairs, a new toilet block, staging, and a Steinway D concert grand piano. The acoustic is superb.
SJE is on the Iffley Road opposite the University Sports Ground. Buses from Oxford city centre stop directly outside. Buses from London stop five minutes' walk away in St Clement's.

Sansara Consort - O Radiant Dawn
Conjuring an aura of mystery and excitement, Sansara Consort explores the anticipation of Christmas, their programme an inter-weaving of works by Masters of the Renaissance and 20th and 21st century composers. Celebrate the season of advent and be transported by the charm and talent of this exceptional ensemble, “The a cappella sound of the future” - Peter Phillips, The Tallis Scholars.
Sansara Consort features singers from the award-winning chamber choir Sansara in a smaller ensemble focusing on choral works originally conceived for consort or one-to-a-part performance. Founded in 2013, Sansara Choir won First Prize and Audience Prize in the London International A Cappella Choir Competition 2015, hosted by St John’s Smith Square in association with The Tallis Scholars.
