Treasures of the European Renaissance

Treasures of the European Renaissance

Oxford Pro Musica Singers present a concert of the varied Treasures of European Renaissance music.

Featuring composers from across the continent, and both sacred and secular music, the programme includes part of Dufay’s Missa L’Homme Armé from the early Renaissance right up to a Gabrieli’s iconic Jubilate Deo representing the pinnacle of Renaissance writing.

We also include Le Chant des Oiseaux by Janequin, a hugely enjoyable but challenging chanson describing in music the songs of birds. Pieces by Palestrina, Josquin, Lobo, and others complete a programme guaranteed to introduce you to something new.

Duration: 1 hour 45mins with interval
