2017 marks Oxford Pro Musica Singers’ 40th Anniversary and they are celebrating with a bang! Walton’s choral spectacular Belshazzar’s Feast is the culmination of a concert featuring Oxford Pro Musica Singers, alumni and friends, all accompanied by Oxford Sinfonia with Baritone, Giles Underwood. In the first half of this extravaganza, OPMS alumni join with the current choir for performances of Parry’s iconic I was Glad and Blest Pair of Sirens.
The choir will also demonstrate why they are one of Oxford’s premier choral ensembles with performances of Rutter’s Choral Fanfare, Gabriel Jackson’s sublime O Sacrum Convivium and Benjamin Britten’s challenging and iconic Hymn to Saint Cecilia. Conductors – Mark Jordan (Musical Director) and Michael Smedley (Founder & former Musical Director) This is a concert surely not to be missed.
